Bluespiggies have been playing music around Vancouver for the last 23 years playeing all the major stages in Vancouver. Their ongoing mandate is to play Bluesy, Jazzy, and Funky Rock to raise funds for worthy causes.
Mike Carter played guitar for many bands during the early Brit Rock revolution in the mid-sixties and toured Britain and Europe before attending med school in Liverpool. Arrived in Vancouver in 1988 to practice ER medicine and has continued his musical interests with many bands.
Dean Greenwood “guitar” and Steve Moore “sax/vocals” were members of “Nervus System” the house band at the Rowing club in the 80’s and “Aural Fixation” one of the founders of Doc’s Rock.
Rob Carter was bass player for “Shattered” a popular punk rock band of the 80’s and is a founder member of the Bluespiggies.
Lou Crockett B3 organ virtuoso cut his teeth playing for Ronnie Hawkins and Mojo back in the 60’s but now combines music and commercial art.
Session drummer Kelly Stodola is one of the hardest working drummers in Vancouver and a delight to hear.
The Blues Piggies are collaborating with Amanda Wood for the 2016 Clean Up the Oceans Concert.
