There’s more to D.K. Metcalf’s infamous carted off bathroom break vs. Lions, Seahawks WR explains

Week 4 of the Seahawks’ schedule had a scary moment for Seahawks fans, when wide receiver D.K. Metcalf was abruptly carted off to Ford Field’s locker room for what seemed like a completely random injury.

Moments later, those fears were assuaged, as it turned out Metcalf simply had to go to the bathroom and decided to take the scariest way possible to get there. He returned to the game moments later, relieved in more ways than one.

Weeks later, Metcalf has appeared on Kay Adams’ “Up & Adams” to tell the full story about why he was carted off and why there’s some, well, compromising footage of him with NFL Films (think a far more whimsical version of “The Jinx”).

You can see the full story in all of its wonderful detail below (warning: some NSFW language).

“I’m very surprised that me being carted off the field to go to the bathroom is big news,” he said. “If anyone has played in Detroit, they know it is a long a– walk from the locker room to the field. And I was not gonna make that walk, by far. No I was not gonna make it.”

Metcalf also gave some insight into Pete Carroll’s mentality on things like bathroom breaks.

“This is the middle of the drive, and I come out for a play, and I told my receiver’s coach I was like ‘hey I gotta go to the bathroom,'” Metcalf began. “He was like ‘you gotta pee or do a number two?’ I said ‘I gotta do a number two.’ And then it went away for like 10 seconds so I was like ‘alright I’ll go back in the game.’

“And when I was back in the game, the feeling came back up. So we ended up scoring like two plays later. And so I run back to the sideline and they had a cart ready for me. So the head trainer was like ‘you gotta go to the bathroom?’ I was like ‘yeah.’ He was like ‘there’s a cart down there’ I was like ‘bro I’m not taking the cart…’

Pete [Carroll] wanted me to do it on the sideline. I was like, ‘No, I got too much respect for myself.’ … And so I hopped on the cart and went to the locker room. I was actually mic’d up that game too.

At this point Adams interjected, asking: “So NFL Films has full pooping?” Which Metcalf confirmed.

Metcalf also outed one of his coaches, saying special teams coach Larry Izzo got a game ball for “taking a s— on the sideline” at one point, hence Carroll’s quickness to say Metcalf could do it too.

He added he would give a thumbs up next time he’s carted off to go to the bathroom to assure everyone he’s OK.

NFL fans everywhere will thank him. They’ll also thank NFL Films for not releasing the tapes.
