Aside from the actual trade package, a new contract was going to be part of the deal for the Dolphins to acquire the pass rusher from the Broncos. It didn’t take too long to get it done.

On Nov. 3, reports indicated that Chubb and the Dolphins agreed to a massive new deal that will keep Chubb in Miami through the 2027 season, thus ending his forthcoming free agency and adding him to a stout Miami D.

Chubb has yet to play a down in Miami, but ‘Phins brass are banking on Chubb to play well opposite ascending talent Jaelen Phillips and the rest of their rotation of edge rushers. In 2022, Chubb has 26 total pressures — six sacks, one QB hit and 15 hurries, per PFF — which is tied for 19th in the league.
