The Bengals and Browns meet in a battle of AFC North teams on Monday night, though one team is much better off than the other heading into Week 8.
The Bengals (4-3) have had a tough time putting it all together this season, but last week they showed flashes of the team that went to Super Bowl 56. Joe Burrow threw for 481 yards, the receiving corps looked like arguably the best in football, and the defense shut out the Falcons in the second half of a 35-17 victory. That’s the Bengals team that won the AFC last season.
Unfortunately for Cincinnati, top receiver Ja’Marr Chase reportedly will miss at least four to six weeks with a hip injury. The Bengals will play this game and at least three more without their best offensive weapon, who had been getting hot at the right time.

The Browns will try to make life difficult for them, but Cleveland continues to trend downward. It hasn’t won in more than a month and sits near the bottom of the AFC at 2-5.
Defensive lapses have cost the Browns at every turn. While the unit did play better in the team’s Week 7 loss to the Ravens, Burrow and a lethal Bengals passing game may have a prime opportunity to keep building their positive momentum.

The Bengals will be looking to assert themselves as a serious threat in the AFC, while the Browns will look to keep their distant playoff hopes alive as they await the return of suspended quarterback Deshaun Watson.
