WEEK 9 FANTASY PICKS: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em

Mark Andrews update, Week 9 fantasy outlook

Andrews (shoulder, knee) exited last week’s game against the Buccaneers due to a shoulder injury. Head coach Jon Harbaugh said on Monday that his shoulder injury is not “a major, major thing” and added that he thinks Andrews will be okay, according to beat writer Jeff Zrebiec.

With the Ravens not playing until Monday night, we will not know if Andrews is officially playing until Saturday afternoon. The veteran tight end has been banged up over the past few weeks but has still found a way to play. With a Week 10 bye on the horizon for Baltimore, this could be the games Andrews sits out so he has two-and-a-half full weeks to heal. If Andrews does not practice or is listed as “questionable,” owners should prepare to start Isaiah Likely, who played well against the Buccaneers last week. They could also look at some streaming options with favorable matchups, Juwan Johnson (vs. Ravens), Will Dissly (@ ARI), Noah Fant (@ ARI), and Cole Kmet (vs. Dolphins).

Darren Waller injury update, Week 9 fantasy outlook

Waller (hamstring) was among five Raiders players who were limited participants in Wednesday’s practice, according to ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez. The veteran tight end has missed Las Vegas’ past two games.

It has been a lost season for Waller, who has struggled to make an impact like we’ve seen him do over the past few years. Heading into Week 9, the veteran pass catcher only has 16 receptions (24 targets) for 175 yards and a touchdown. The last time we saw Waller on the field was in Week 5 against the Chiefs, where he initially suffered the soft-tissue injury. The hope is that Waller could play Sunday after being limited in practice last week before ultimately being deemed “out” on Sunday morning. If the 30-year-old is ready to go, he’ll have a tough matchup against the Jaguars, who allow the 11th-fewest fantasy points per game to TEs this season. If he’s out again, owners should be prepared to pivot to Foster Moreau, who recorded six receptions (nine targets) for 31 yards last week against the Saints.
