Bregman thinks he broke finger: ‘Can’t really bend it so I’m glad we w

Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman is relieved the World Series came to an end in six games because he’s not sure he would’ve been able to play Game 7 due to a finger injury.

“I can’t really bend it so I’m glad we won,” Bregman said while showing the finger on his left hand to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, adding that he thinks it’s broken.

Bregman was tagged out attempting to stretch a base hit into a double in the eighth inning of the 4-2 series-clinching victory. The two-time All-Star’s finger bent backward on the tag from Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Jean Segura.

Bregman was seen holding his finger while the play was under review. He eventually was ruled out, retreated back to the dugout, and finished the game at third base.
