The injury bug has bitten the Raptors less than 10 games into the 2022-23 NBA season.

Late in the third quarter of the Raptors’ lone trip to Dallas on Friday, Pascal Siakam slipped and was forced to exit the game with an apparent injury. He would be ruled out for the remainder of the game shortly after.

What is Pascal Siakam’s injury?

Evaluation revealed that Siakam suffered a strained right groin, which would keep him out for the night. He suffered the injury as he slipped while handling the ball at the top of the key.

Siakam missed 11 games with a groin injury during the 2019-20 season and played through groin discomfort during the 2020-21 campaign. His latest injury comes as Fred VanVleet is sidelined with lower back tightness.

Entering Friday night, Siakam was putting forth career numbers with averages of 25.6 points, 9.6 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game.

How long will Pascal Siakam be out?

The time that Siakam misses will ultimately be dependent on the severity of his groin injury. As mentioned above, Siakam was sidelined for just under three weeks with a groin injury in the 2019-20 season.
