Is Mark Andrews playing Monday night? Fantasy injury update for Ravens-Saints Week 9 Monday Night Football

Mark Andrews has been one of the best tight ends in the NFL over the past few years and is the Ravens’ top offensive playmaker, outside of superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson. The standout tight end has also been dealing with multiple injuries over the past few weeks, which may sideline him for Monday night’s road contest against the Saints. If that’s the case, fantasy owners will have to make some tough start ’em, sit ’em decisions at the tight end spot ahead of Sunday’s 1 p.m. kickoff for Week 9.

We’ll continue to update this article with news on Andrews until the official active/inactive report comes out on Monday around 6:45 p.m. ET.

Is Mark Andrews playing Monday night Week 9?

Andrews (knee/shoulder) was officially listed as doubtful on the Ravens’ final injury report ahead of their Week 9 matchup against the Saints on Monday night. It was surprising to see the veteran tight end not ruled out, as he did not throughout the week. Last week against the Buccaneers, Andrews suffered a shoulder injury in the first half.

The veteran tight end has lived up to his preseason fantasy expectations this season, recording 42 receptions (64 targets) for 488 yards and five touchdowns. Andrews has been a monster in standard and PPR leagues as a top-10 TE1 option weekly. However, with Andrews likely out for Monday Night Football, Jackson and owners might have to depend on rookie tight end Isaiah Likely. Likely stepped up for the injured Andrews last week, recording six receptions (seven targets) for 77 yards and a touchdown.

Owners should not get used to that production, as the former Coastal Carolina standout has a tough matchup against the Saints on Monday night. Entering Week 9, New Orleans’ defense has allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to tight ends this season. While this is not an ideal matchup, we should expect Likely to receive 5-6 catches on Monday night in a Ravens’ offense depleted at the skill positions.
